Small-town homes and country properties
Boyd was settled by farmers in the early 1890s and was originally called Greasy Bend, a nod to the local hog-fattening business. It's still a small town, with about 1,400 residents in the 2020 census, but the Boyd ISD area has grown enough that the district opened a new high school in 2011, three times the size of the old one.
Much of the land around Boyd is farms and acreage, and that shapes what a home's HVAC system goes through. Houses set back on long drives see more dust, so filters and outdoor coils need attention more often. Barns, shops, and workshops often need heating and cooling of their own, and a ductless mini split is usually the simplest way to get it there.
Out in the country, a system that quits can leave you waiting a long time for help. Our office in Azle is a short drive south, and we're on call 24/7.

Boyd HVAC questions
Questions about your farm, shop, or home? Call us at 817-863-1841.
Do you come out to farms and rural properties around Boyd?
Yes. We serve homes in town and properties out in the surrounding Wise County countryside, including farms, ranches, and acreage along Highway 114.
What's the best way to heat and cool a barn or shop?
For most outbuildings, a ductless mini split. It heats and cools from a single unit, needs no ductwork, and can be sized for anything from a small tack room to a full workshop.
Why does my air filter get dirty so fast out here?
Dust from gravel roads, fields, and livestock areas gets pulled into your home and caught by the filter. Check it every month, and change it whenever it looks dirty. A clogged filter makes your system work harder and can shorten its life.
Is there a trip charge to come out to Boyd?
No. Our Azle office is a short drive south of Boyd, and Boyd gets the same service call rate as every town we serve, with no trip charge.
